A Review of Good Night Oppy!

JACKET COPY: Oppy is on a mission! An interplanetary mission! She searches Mars for signs of past life...

She makes INCREDIBLE discoveries!

The NASA space rover Opportunity spent 15 amazing years on the red planet. She had a truly out-of-this-world adventured.

This is her story.

I've already read this story several times. The first time, when I felt a bit short on timespan, I just read the engaging text. The next time, when I felt I had more time, I devoured the text and the sidebars. What I loved about this book, besides the interesting story of a helpful Mars rover, was that it appeals to all ages. If the child is very young, start with the text, and if the child is older, include the side bars! And I loved it too! Such interesting info!

Kids will learn about the Opportunity rover and Mars. And, in a subtle way, about death and thankfulness. It's a wonderful book with so many layers!

1. It's about Mars -- who isn't fascinated with this subject, whether they be young or old?

2. It's truly one of the most enjoyable STEM focused books I've read lately.

3. Graham Carter has personified the rover in such an endearing way as well as brought Mars to life in a fun way.
