As a freelance editor at a small press, I only took on the jobs that I felt were special.
When Fishing with Grandpa and Skye came across my desk, I was touched by this sweet, slice of life story featuring a special, intergenerational relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter. In fact, it reminded me of fishing with my own father as a child and of how important those memories were.
These days with the world so sad, so crazy and so scary all at once, it's important to remember to build relationships and to spend time with those who matter most.
So I took on this lovely, lyrical project by Candace Spizzirri so that perhaps her beautiful book would foster and inspire those special days and treasured relationships in others.
Beverly Love Warren uses a soft and pleasing palette to complement Candace's lovely and lyrical words. Together, they portray a satisfyingly sweet and memorable day in the life of a grandparent and grandchild that the reader will enjoy being a part of.
This book makes a great gift to share between the generations for anytime, but especially for Father's Day or Grandparent's day!
